Material Requirements
You'll need approximately 2.47 cubic yards (3.70 tons) of limestone. Limestone is denser than gravel, so it weighs more per cubic yard.
Compaction Factor
Limestone compacts significantly. For a 4-inch finished depth, you might need to order enough for 5 inches to account for compaction.
Usage
Ideal for base material. Grade #411 or #304 (with dust) is best for compaction. Clean limestone (#57) provides drainage but doesn't compact as hard.
How to Use
- 1Enter the length and width of the area (in feet).
- 2Enter the desired depth of limestone (in inches).
- 3The calculator will estimate the cubic yards and tons needed.

Steps:
- 1.Volume = 20 * 10 * (4/12) = 66.67 cu ft
- 2.Cubic Yards = 66.67 / 27 = 2.47 cu yds
- 3.Weight = 2.47 x 1.5 = 3.70 tons
